Where These Foxes Make Their Shelter
A Channel Island Fox makes their shelter in small caves made from bolders standing side by side. Or they also make small dens from logs and dirt. In their den there is a small area to sleep. Also when they make a large enough den their is sometimes a spot to have their pups.
Where These Foxes Live Around
The Channel Island Foxes live on the Channel Islands. There is six subspecies to the Channel Island Fox. These foxes are known to live around small forests and some make homes in the forest. The forest it's one of their favourite places to live. They also like the cliffsides because there are Bald Eagle nests with some fish.
Channel Island Foxes Being Held In Captivity
Some Channel Island Foxes are being held at zoos because the zoo's are trying to protect it. They hold them in a zoo to breed them to help keep the population up. The population is very low. Infact There is only about 1660 left. Thats why some zoos are breeding them to gain the population.
